The SlabWorx Team
Joseph Myhand
At a young age, Joseph Myhand realized his love for construction and development through his grandfather, J. Albert Guilbeau. His grandfather was the founder of Cenac Incorporated, which is a land development and management company. Joseph currently sits on the Board of Directors for Cenac Incorporated, in honor of his late Grandfather. In the year 2013, he entered the world of concrete construction with a firm based in South Louisiana. On August 19th, 2023, Joseph opened SlabWorx, LLC., a concrete construction company, licensed to serve the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
Throughout his career, Joseph has completed numerous types of projects in the concrete field, such as grocery stores, apartment complexes, warehouses, and truck yards. He has helped clients achieve economic efficiency through engineering practice while maintaining the quality he has built his reputation on.
Outside of Joseph's professional career, he loves to spend time with his family. Joseph is a scratch golfer and longtime member of Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, Louisiana. He enjoys fishing the Gulf of Mexico, and duck hunting across south Louisiana.
Joseph's childhood was spent on his family's farm in Carencro, Louisiana. The Myhand Family Farm consisted of a wide range of tasks, from picking peaches in the orchard (which consisted of over 150 peach trees) to feeding all the animals to mowing grass and whatever could come up through the daily adventures of growing up on a family farm! When he reflects on his childhood, one of the major takeaways from his upbringing is the ability to never meet a stranger and drum up a conversation with anyone.
Connor Clouatre
From a young age, Connor Clouatre has had his eye on construction. He got his start in construction working as an electrician’s helper in the South Louisiana summer heat throughout high school. With a dream of advancing development and infrastructure in Louisiana, he pursued Civil Engineering at LSU. After graduating he worked as an engineer Arcadis with an emphasis on heavy civil design on projects throughout the country. These included jobs such as decommissioning a dam on the West Point campus to helping design a Floodwall in Eastern Manhattan. Although he enjoyed the work and learned a lot, Connor made the jump into concrete construction in 2021 to pursue his old dream of seeing Louisiana grow.
Through 3 years in the industry, Connor has overseen a multitude of projects ranging from commercial apartment complexes to single-family homes. With Connor’s engineering background, he is adept at interpreting plans and occasionally bringing more cost-efficient designs to the table. In Late 2023, Connor teamed up with Joseph Myhand to form Slabworx, a form, place, and finish group to work towards bringing a superior concrete contracting group to not only Southern Louisiana, but all the Southern United States.
In Connor’s free time, he is an avid golfer, on many weekends you can find him at The Island Golf Course. He is also an LSU football and basketball season ticket holder. Connor has a large group of family and friends who he enjoys spending time with.
